SPGS International School Dubai is redefining education in the UAE by bringing over five centuries of British academic excellence to a new, co-educational campus.
The school combines tradition and innovation, shaping young minds for success in a global future.
The launch follows a collaboration between St Paul’s Girls’ School, ranked first in the UK for twelve of the past thirteen years, and Dubai-based Meraki Education. The goal is clear: create a new kind of school that sets a higher bar for learning, culture, and leadership in the Middle East.
A new chapter for Dubai schools
SPGS International School Dubai represents more than a physical campus. It is a statement of intent from two education leaders who understand what excellence means. With more than half of SPGS graduates progressing to Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League universities, the same ambition will now drive the school’s new Dubai chapter.
Bernard J. West, Managing Director of Meraki Education, said the move will “establish a lasting foundation for excellence” in Dubai. He added that “a school of this calibre does not simply serve a community; it defines it.”
From my perspective, this project goes beyond classrooms. It reshapes how families in Dubai view education — not as a service, but as a legacy that develops the city’s future thinkers and innovators.
Blending tradition with the British curriculum
At its core, SPGS International School Dubai will offer a rigorous British curriculum that balances intellectual discipline with creativity. The new campus, designed for students from Early Years to Sixth Form, includes top-tier facilities for science, art, design, sport, and sustainability.
Sara Brazendale, Managing Director of SPGS International, said: “This is more than a school; it’s an enduring institution built to inspire a generation.” Her words capture the school’s mission to unite academic depth with cultural awareness, ensuring every student leaves ready to lead in a changing world.
Building academic excellence for tomorrow
This collaboration reflects Dubai’s growing appetite for elite education and its role as a hub for global learning. SPGS International School Dubai will help strengthen the city’s position among the world’s leading Dubai schools, offering families access to a model built on proven academic success.
Meraki Education brings extensive regional experience to the partnership, having launched and managed several of the Middle East’s most respected schools. Their involvement guarantees operational strength, community connection, and sustainability.
The result will be a school that embodies academic excellence, combining heritage and innovation to meet the highest global standards.
A vision grounded in community and leadership
SPGS has long been a pioneer in redefining leadership through education. Decades before women were accepted at universities, it championed equality and intellectual freedom. That legacy continues in Dubai, where students will be encouraged to lead, create, and give back to their community.
By connecting Meraki Education’s regional insight with St Paul’s international reputation, SPGS International School Dubai becomes a symbol of shared ambition — a partnership rooted in values, not only vision.
